Dusty Boots Farms is an NSDR & NAMASCUSA registered breeder of Miniature Australian Shepherds. All of our dogs are registered. We border the National Forest about 4 miles east of the small Central Oregon town of Sisters. Our dogs have plenty of room to play and grow in this rural forested setting. You've probably read about lots of dogs that are "home-raised". Too often that means the row of kennels is within walking distance of the house and maybe, on occasion, a lucky dog gets to come in the house. Our dogs truly are home raised-they work in our home office all day and they all sleep inside the house every night. With three kids around, our dogs get lots of handling from day one. They learn to live with cats, horses, sheep, goats, other dogs and to ride in vehicles.
We've spent a lot of time building a solid foundation for our breeding program. Our goal is singular;
to improve the Miniature Australian Shepherd breed. Probably because this breed is still very new and
the puppies expensive, you will find lots of unsound, non-registered dogs available. Every dog in our breeding program; is registered with NSDR and or NAMASCUSA, has had their hips OFA (good or excellent) or Penn Hip tested and their eyes have CERF.(Canine Eye Registration Foundation) clearance. We are also utilizing a very important new test: MDR 1 Genotyping-this test screens for the sometimes
lethal Multi-Drug Sensitivity Mutation. Additionally, all Dusty Boots dogs must have earned their Championship in the showring before being considered for breeding. Every breeding is carefully
planned to produce puppies that are true ambassadors of this terrific breed-in conformation and in temperament. There are cheaper ways to breed dogs but we believe there is no cheap way to build a quality breeding program that truly improves the breed.
Every Dusty Boots Mini Aussie puppy is Conformation and Temperament tested at eight weeks using
Pat Hastings' phenomenal Puppy Puzzle. If you haven't already read about Puppy Puzzle or attended

our painful mistakes, if a breeder won't guarantee their dog for two years, run! If they don't have confidence in their dog, how can you?
