Dedicated To Improving the Miniature Australian Shepherd Breed
In September, the 2008 Mini Aussie Nationals were held at beautiful Argus Ranch in Auburn, Washington.  It's kind of "Disneyland for dogs".   We had a great time and were blessed by Huntington's second place finish in the NAMASCUSA's Most Versatile Aussie (MVA) competition.  MVA is kind of like the all-around competition in gymnastics.  The dogs must compete in four disciplines:
agility, conformation, herding and rally obedience.  Thirty mini aussies from around the country entered the MVA-only 15 ended up with qualifying runs in each venue.  

The MVA competition was about as fun as it gets-and stands as proof positive that it's hard to beat the versatility, devotion and intelligence of an Aussie.  Believe it or not, neither Huntington nor Jan had ever competed in agility, herding or rally O before the fantastic finish at the Nationals.
